Alcohol polivin\u00edlico (PVA, PVOH)<\/a>\u00a0se est\u00e1 utilizando en el desarrollo de materiales de construcci\u00f3n de alta resistencia, m\u00e1s duraderos y respetuosos con el medio ambiente que los tradicionales. Investigadores de la Universidad de California en San Diego han creado un nuevo tipo de hormig\u00f3n fabricado con PVA que es el doble de resistente que el hormig\u00f3n tradicional. El nuevo hormig\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n es menos propenso a agrietarse y m\u00e1s flexible, lo que lo hace ideal para su uso en regiones propensas a terremotos.
