Es un pol\u00edmero viscoel\u00e1stico semisint\u00e9tico, inactivo, utilizado habitualmente como lubricante en oftalmolog\u00eda, o como excipiente o veh\u00edculo en medicamentos orales. Es soluble en agua y en algunos disolventes, como la proporci\u00f3n adecuada de etanol\/agua, propanol\/agua, etc. Las soluciones acuosas son tensioactivas. Alta transparencia y rendimiento estable. Diferentes especificaciones de productos tienen diferentes temperaturas de gel, y la solubilidad cambia con la viscosidad. Cuanto menor es la viscosidad, mayor es la solubilidad. Diferentes especificaciones de HPMC tienen ciertas diferencias en el rendimiento.
