Les fibres d'alcool polyvinylique peuvent \u00eatre obtenues par filage humide et par filage \u00e0 sec. La fibre d'alcool polyvinylique apr\u00e8s le traitement thermique peut \u00eatre obtenue par ac\u00e9talisation de la fibre d'alcool polyvinylique. Afin d'am\u00e9liorer les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s des fibres, la solution d'alcool polyvinylique (concentration de 16%) contenant l'agent de r\u00e9ticulation acide borique peut \u00eatre fil\u00e9e par voie humide, et les fibres primaires obtenues sont coagul\u00e9es dans un bain de coagulation alcaline, neutralis\u00e9es, lav\u00e9es \u00e0 l'eau et soumises \u00e0 un \u00e9tirement \u00e9lev\u00e9 en plusieurs \u00e9tapes.
