Il s'agit d'un polym\u00e8re visco\u00e9lastique semi-synth\u00e9tique, inactif, couramment utilis\u00e9 comme lubrifiant en ophtalmologie, ou comme excipient ou v\u00e9hicule dans les m\u00e9dicaments oraux. Il est soluble dans l'eau et dans certains solvants, tels que les proportions appropri\u00e9es d'\u00e9thanol\/eau, de propanol\/eau, etc. Les solutions aqueuses sont actives en surface. Haute transparence et performance stable. Les diff\u00e9rentes sp\u00e9cifications des produits ont des temp\u00e9ratures de gel diff\u00e9rentes, et la solubilit\u00e9 change en fonction de la viscosit\u00e9. Plus la viscosit\u00e9 est faible, plus la solubilit\u00e9 est \u00e9lev\u00e9e. Les diff\u00e9rentes sp\u00e9cifications de l'HPMC pr\u00e9sentent certaines diff\u00e9rences de performance.
