Polivinil Alkohol (PVA, PVOH)<\/a>\u00a0digunakan dalam pengembangan bahan bangunan berkekuatan tinggi yang lebih tahan lama dan ramah lingkungan daripada bahan tradisional. Para peneliti di University of California, San Diego, telah menciptakan jenis beton baru yang terbuat dari PVA dan dua kali lebih kuat dari beton tradisional. Beton baru ini juga tidak mudah retak dan lebih fleksibel, sehingga sangat ideal untuk digunakan di daerah yang rawan gempa. Penggunaan PVA dalam bahan bangunan dapat memberikan dampak yang signifikan dalam mengurangi jejak karbon industri konstruksi.<\/p>\n
