Polivinil alkohol (PVA) adalah polimer yang larut dalam air. Karena daya rekatnya yang bagus, kekuatan pembentuk film dan dispersibilitas pigmennya, maka, sering digunakan sebagai bahan perekat dan pengatur ukuran permukaan dalam industri kertas. Dewasa ini, pVA telah berhasil digunakan dalam pelapis kertas cetak inkjet-dari kertas bermutu rendah hingga kertas foto berkualitas tinggi. Media cetak inkjet memerlukan lapisan penyerap tinta dan, jika perlu, lapisan permukaan. Persyaratan performa polivinil alkohol berbeda-beda. PVA digunakan dalam tinta cetak. Ketahanan air yang baik, daya rekat yang baik, fluiditas yang baik dan sifat pembasahan pigmen yang sangat baik, membuat seri resin polivinil butirat menjadi pilihan ideal untuk pengikat tinta cetak. Jika diformulasikan dengan benar, tinta ini tidak berbau dan tidak berasa. Karena resin seri polivinil butirat (PVA) larut dalam pelarut yang tidak mengandung zat berbahaya dan memiliki daya rekat yang sangat baik pada substrat organik dan aluminium foil, maka resin ini merupakan tinta cetak offset dan gravure untuk kemasan makanan yang merupakan pilihan ideal.<\/p>\n
