Sebagai agen permukaan non-ionik, hidroksietil selulosa memiliki sifat-sifat berikut ini selain mengentalkan, menangguhkan, mengikat, mengambang, membentuk film, mendispersikan, menahan air dan menyediakan koloid pelindung:<\/p>\n

  1. HEO larut dalam air panas atau dingin, dan tidak mengendap pada suhu tinggi atau mendidih, sehingga memiliki berbagai karakteristik kelarutan dan viskositas, serta gelasi non-termal;<\/li>\n
  2. Non-ionik itu sendiri dapat hidup berdampingan dengan polimer, permukaan, dan garam yang larut dalam air lainnya dalam rentang yang luas, dan merupakan pengental koloid yang sangat baik yang mengandung larutan elektrolit konsentrasi tinggi;<\/li>\n
  3. Kapasitas retensi air dua kali lebih tinggi daripada metil selulosa, dan memiliki pengaturan aliran yang lebih baik.<\/li>\n
  4. Dibandingkan dengan metil selulosa dan hidroksipropil metil selulosa, kemampuan pendispersi HEC buruk, tetapi kemampuan koloid pelindungnya kuat.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
