Water Soluble PVA Fiber

What are the uses and properties of PVA fibers?

2023-05-08
PVA (Polyvinyl alcohol) fibers are monofilament fibers that disperse throughout the concrete matrix, creating a multi-directional fiber network, providing shrinkage control, abrasion resistance, and protection from thermal expansion and contraction.
What is the use of PVA fiber?
PVA fibers can be used as a primary or secondary means of reinforcing artisan concrete objects, including concrete countertops, architectural concrete elements, concrete furniture, and many other applications.
What are the properties of PVA fiber?
Properties of PVA fiber are 38 µm in diameter, with eight mm in length, and density of 1.3 gram/cm3 as shown in Fig 1.. Modulus elasticity of PVA fiber is in the range of 25 – 40 GPa, is higher than natural fiber. The elongation of PVA fiber is 6-10%, and the tensile strength of PVA fiber is in range of 880 – 1600 MPa.
