The role of polyvinyl alcohol in the production of white latex

Polyvinyl alcohol is an excellent protective colloid and dispersant for vinyl acetate homopolymerization or copolymerization with other monomers to produce emulsion (white glue), which is very important in the production of white glue. Generally, as the degree of polymerization of polyvinyl alcohol increases, the viscosity of the produced emulsion increases. Partial alcoholysis type polyvinyl alcohol (JOYFORCE PVA 1788) is used in combination with complete alcoholysis type polyvinyl alcohol (such as JOYFORCE PVA 1799, PVA 1999). Partial alcoholysis type polyvinyl alcohol can increase emulsion stability. Complete alcoholysis polyvinyl alcohol can increase the water resistance of emulsions.
